Zero Waste Gathered skirt - The Floriferous

Floriferous: Abundantly flowering. It felt like the only word for it.

This is a made to order, limited edition, of up to 3 skirts. 

The Floriferous skirt is breathing new life into what was once a gorgeous doona cover(outstanding quality fabric). Using zero waste design principles and re using instead of creating from new. This 100% cotton, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified fabric, with an ink-washed botanical print in soft grey and deep charcoal, has a soft, crisp hand, holding it's shape beautifully, whilst still moving with you. It captures the feel of a black and white photograph of a garden from another era, a time when we cherished and cared for our garments, and often made them from fabrics already on hand. It is a nod to the past, while embracing our future with respect.

The Floriferous is mid-length and fully gathered, with large, deep, hidden pockets. It is meticulously sewn with french seam finishes and a hand finished hem, while all notions are as natural as the fabric, with the addition of your choice of vintage buttons (only one set of each available), to the organic cotton thread. All natural or repurposed input. (The labels are recycled polyester, which I am working on, so at end of life, these will need to be removed and the buttons can find yet another life). Because each skirt is cut individually, print placement will be unique to your skirt, no two will be identical.

There is enough fabric for two, possibly three skirts. Being a rescued fabric, truly makes this a rare run. Please choose which buttons you like.
